Patent Drafting and Prosecution

Claims first, specification second, prosecution third. Ten modules on real disclosures and real First Examination Reports, from mechanical to software to pharma.

  • Draft a complete specification: field, background, summary, detailed description, claims and abstract, in that order of difficulty
  • Write an independent claim with the minimum essential features, and dependent claims that give you real fallback positions
  • Read a First Examination Report line by line and classify every objection by the response it needs

IP Licensing and Contracts

Seven modules built around real licences, with a negotiation simulation played from both sides. You leave with a clause bank you have drafted yourself.

  • Write a due diligence memo on an IP portfolio that tells the client what they are actually buying
  • Draft a grant clause that gives away exactly what was agreed and nothing more
  • Draft a trademark licence with quality-control provisions that will hold up in India

Copyright and Design Registration

The two filings everyone assumes are easy, until the discrepancy letter or the novelty objection arrives. Six modules, twelve exercises, both offices covered.

  • Classify a work correctly and identify its owner before you touch the form
  • Prepare a Form XIV with a Statement of Particulars that does not invite a discrepancy
  • Obtain and file the Section 45 search certificate for artistic works used as labels

How a course works

Watch less. Draft more.

01

Read the document

Each module opens with a real filing: an examination report, a licence, an opposition. Client details removed, everything else intact.

02

Draft your response

You write the reply, the claim set or the clause before you see ours. Expect to spend as long drafting as watching.

03

Compare and fix

Then the walkthrough: our draft, paragraph by paragraph, with the reasoning. Plus what the Registry or the examiner actually did with it.

Questions

Before you enrol

Self-paced or cohort?

Self-paced. You get the whole course on day one and watch the recordings in your own time, for the access period stated on each course page. Enrolled students can also join a live drafting clinic every month; replays are added to the course.

Is this for students or practitioners?

Both, but it is pitched at the practitioner. A final-year student who has done the IP elective will manage. A first-year will struggle, and should start with the blog.

Do I need a law degree?

No. Founders and product managers take the trademark and licensing courses so they can stop paying for work they could review themselves. The patent course assumes you can read a claim; it teaches you the rest.

What exactly do I get?

Video lessons, the source documents, drafting exercises with model answers, editable templates, and a certificate of completion once every exercise is submitted.

What does inaugural price mean?

Launch pricing for the first enrolments. Prices will go up once the inaugural period ends; anyone who enrols now pays the inaugural price and nothing more.

What is the refund policy?

Fourteen days, no questions asked, as long as you have completed fewer than two modules.

Is GST included?

Yes. Prices include GST and a tax invoice is issued automatically on enrolment.
